Can someone help me do this math?

Question

The gas gage in my truck does not work, so I have to keep track of the amount of gas I put in and my miles. I'm trying to figure out how many gallons my tank hold and how many miles I get per gallon.
I tried looking up my truck, but couldn't find an answer.
I'm not sure if this is enough info to figure this out, I hope so. 
I had a full tank last week. After my tank was full, I drove 74 miles, then put some more gas in because I wasn't sure how much I had left. So I put in 6.4 gallons and that filled my tank back up.

I had to do this when mine went out. I calculated at 10 to make it easier to remember and o always put in the same amount. So let’s say I got 10 miles to the gallon I put in 10 gallons so I should be good for 100 miles. Trust me you will forget. Put a sticky note or something or clear out the trip a or b every time you put in gas

Well, if your tank was full, you drove 74 miles and had to put 6.4 gallons to refill it, you need 6.4 gallons for 74 miles, which equals roughly 11.5 miles per gallon (74/6.4)

The 2 door has a 17.3	 gallon tank and the 4 door has a 20.8 gallon tank. 
It was originally rated for 17mpg city, but those are based on optimal conditions and guaranteed you won’t get that from a 20 year old truck. 
The other commenter calculated 11.5mpg based on your usage, I’d say 11 to be safe. Then say you have the 17 gallon tank and 11 mpg, you could drive 187 miles in a tank of gas... but again to be safe I’d make sure you never go more than 100-125 miles from a full tank before filling up again.
