when did you guys start birth control and why? I’m thinking about getting birth control when i turn 16 but i’m not sure whether it would be the right age or time to get it.

The right time to get on birth control is before you start having sex. ..I got on the pill right after (like a week after) I started having sex. (I was 18) It was actually my mom's (fairly new) husband's idea and I'm so glad I got on it. I had two BF's before my husband and my husband is the only person I'd want kids with. I've been on birth control ever since, then had my daughter and got the implant, then the copper IUD now. If you don't like one, try something else. I love this IUD and my periods are still light, but a lot of people don't like this birth control. Everyone's different. 🤷

My first birth control was after I had my daughter at 20. Was on the mini pill for three months then quit. At 22 I got an iud.

I started before I was sexually active. At age 15 the doctor put me on it to try and help my acne. I switched from the pill to a hormonal IUD at age 22, and I recently got it removed. I’m happily no longer on hormonal birth control.

I started birth control(depo) around 15 only bc i knew i wouldn’t have periods( was not sexually active) i stayed on for 3yrs & loved it .. i say go for it whenever your ready especially if your gonna be sexually active.

I started on it when I became sexually active after high school. Personally, I didn’t care for what it did to my body, so I just use condoms now. But, everyone is different and it does help regulate your cycle.

I started the combination pill right after high school (2015) when I started to become sexually active... I started having sex a bit later than most people my age but don’t regret it for a second. If you are being sexually active or are wanting to in the near future then I definitely think you should go on it. I started it solely for the purpose of not getting pregnant although there are other benefits like helping with acne (I have had very clear skin ever since starting the pill), and it can help regulate your period. But don’t rush it!
