My daughter is 6 months old and I was wondering when can I which car seats?

When you feel like it, we started using the next seat around 3months old. Be sure it’s at the correct settings/angle and continue rear facing as long as possible!

Depends on the seat, but most convertibles can be used from birth so you can switch anytime you want. Just make sure to choose a seat that is appropriate for your child’s height/weight/age and keep it rear facing.

I wanted to get my moneys worth out of my infant carrier so I used it until 7-8 months when my son got too heavy to use it. I’m still using it for my daughter who is 5 months. You can switch at any time.

Do you mean switch to a convertible seat or switch to forward facing?  If you mean forward facing, it’s way too early.  Their necks just aren’t strong enough to withstand even a bit of a fender bender.  I know an adult that’s been in PT for 2 years because she got rear ended at only 15mph.

You can switch to a convertible car seat at anytime, but also continue to use the infant when you want. I had the infant one in my car after I bought the convertible car seat for my husbands car at 11 months. I felt like she was finally outgrowing the infant seat at 15 months and that’s when I bought another convertible car seat. She’s still rear facing at almost 2 years old and I plan to for a few more months.

My 14m old is still in a bucket seat. He hasn’t hit the weight or height Maximums. Then he’ll be in a 3 in 1 until he’s 10.
