Can you go into labor while on progesterone?

Dr wants me on progesterone until labor, but won’t it inhibit labor? I’m on 40mg. Thanks!

Yes that’s the point! To prevent preterm labor! I’ll be on it from 16-36 weeks due to having two babies premature! 
You CAN still go into labor on it but the hope is that you won’t and that your baby will make it to term or close to!

Yes you can. My sac broke at 28 weeks 9 days later I went into labor. I was on progesterone.

I’ve had two scares this pregnant which is considered high risk, so yes it is possible. I get the weekly intramuscular injections, but I’m currently 33+3 and set for another c section in three weeks. Anything is possible.

Yes that is what it is supposed to do inhibate labor and I am on 240 mg shots every week ....but once I got 37 weeks they said every 2 weeks for the shot cause then if baby did come it would be fine so talk more in depth with your doctor ....

There's a possibility you can but they are really helpful and your chances reduce of going into preterm labor. Good luck! Sending prayers

Yes. From what my high risk doctor said, that it only is 33% helpful in keeping baby in. I don’t take my shots anymore because the side effects were causing more problems than good.
