Embarrassing question for dentists?

I have not been to the dentist in a long time. Like over 10 years...I know. Gross. I went a lot as a child which has made me not want to go now, and now I'm embarrassed about what they'll say..blah blah blah I know you don't care😅
There's a special going on near me for an exam/cleaning/xrays I'm going to do. I know that I'll need more things done, which is what I'm worried about. 
My main thing is I'd like them to be white...they're a bit yellow now😔 I know it's a bad picture, but if you can see, I have a few bigger spots on the top of my front teeth. Will a cleaning take care of that? Or is there another procedure? Sorry for making you look at this 🤢😭

Im pretty sure that’s cavities or tooth decay if it has a hole in it or like a groove of some sort. If they’re sensitive to cold foods I’d say it wouldnt take just a cleaning. Probably like fillings or something

Honey you have to go to the dentist at least once a year if not twice. Embarrassment is not an excuse, this is a real health issue. Take that deal up and go, people on this app ant see what’s really going on.

You may need a periodontal cleaning, from what I can tell you have red, receding gums which could be gingivitis or worse.
Those brown spots could be some decay starting, but no matter what it is the dentist can fix you up!
After your cleaning and any fillings you may need, ask about whitening. Your teeth look nice other than some minor spots imo.

I was without dental insurance for about 6 years so I wasn’t able to see a dentist regularly like I always had. 
I finally went in and had my cleaning done a few months ago after regaining my insurance coverage! 
It wasn’t near as bad as I thought it would be! Don’t let embarrassment, pain, or fear keep you from going!! They have seen it all, seriously. Better to get it taken care of now than wait longer and face more issues. 
After all this time I had a cleaning and just needed a few small fillings! I worked myself up so bad thinking I would need caps, have tooth decay, etc. 😂
On your front teeth, it very well could be just staining - not decay. But you’ll need a cleaning and X-rays to get a positive diagnosis on everything.

I am not a dentist, but a couple of years ago I went through this… You will need a more in-depth cleaning that goes underneath your gums called a root planing. They will put anesthetic in the area before they do the cleaning. Mine were not quite as bad as yours, so I don’t know if there will be anything additional done.￼

Try to floss a lil bit more on the bottom hun it looks like it’s forming into gingivitis....
