Easy induction FTM *long*
As I sit here with my daughter in my arms doing skin to skin I keep thinking back to my birth story.
These stories helped so much through out the whole pregnancy and I hope this can help a mama who is scared to deliver or be induced.
I went to my 39 week appointment everything was going great. Contractions were going and I was effacing. Only issue was I was super itchy all over. My OB didnt like that fact so decided to induce me at 3am that night. Let me tell you I was Terrified. I wanted my body to naturally go into labor since I've read/heard horror stories about long inductions.
We get to the hospital at 3am (surprisingly it was super busy with mamas going into labor!) We get settled into our room and they start the first round of cytotec. Contractions are very tolerable I'm able to laugh, move, and talk just fine. They check me and I'm very posterior and 60% effaced. 🙄 So they do another round at this point contractions are getting a little stronger but nothing bad. Still able to laugh, and move. No progress so they bring the idea of the foley bulb. I really didn't want it because I've all the horror stories but I was so over waiting (I was at 8 hours already) I wanted to get things rolling.
Let me tell you. That was the worst part about the whole labor/delivery/birthing process. I've never felt a pain like that before. Thankfully it fell out in 45 minutes. 🙌
A couple hours later they give me pitocin and those contractions are no joke suddenly I felt a pop and there goes my water all over the bed. I immediately call for the epidural because the labor shakes were so intense I couldnt relax to dilate. (The epidural was a piece of cake) the IV hurt worse!
3 hours later I feel a lot of pressure and tell my husband who then proceeds to tell me to nap because there is no way I'm at a 10 so fast. Lol doctor comes in 5 minutes later and sure enough I am ready to go. My husband started panicking telling everyone I'm ready to roll. My mom comes in ready to film and take pictures.
Well 4 contractions and 10 minutes later my baby girl arrives!! Only had to get 3 stitches!
Total time of labor 17 hours with no complications!
