Is it better for my skin if I switch from foundation everyday to Bb cream?

I’m trying to clear my skin but I don’t feel comfortable going with nothing on my face. I wear foundation everyday, if I switch to BBcream is it better for my skin? Thanks.

bb cream is much lighter but still clogs. as long as you're diligent about makeup removal and skincare it's fine

Be careful what BB cream you use...some of the drugstore brands are worse for your skin than foundation. My friend is an esthetician and said all of her clients who use U.S. drugstore BB creams end up getting extractions and it's just pure pigment that comes out of the pores.

I prefer CC creams (correct/conceal) because they have better coverage than a BB cream. You definitely need to have a good skincare routine though if you are wearing any type of coverage. Cleanse/tone/moisturize twice daily.

If you’re really trying to clear the skin, BB cream is lighter so you won’t have anything too thick on your face, but also be conscious of the ingredients in them, as some may contain chemicals that wouldn’t help if your goal is to clear it up.

It’s typically not so much about what makeup products you use (unless you’re allergic to an ingredient it contains), but how well you clean your skin. Avoid using harsh scrubs (like st Ives) as that can cause micro tears in your skin, which allow bacteria to get in, and will cause even more acne. Exfoliating is good, but it should be a super gentle exfoliant and shouldn’t be used more than once or twice per week. When you wash your face, use warm water to wash and cold water to rinse. The warm water will open your pores and allow your face wash to fully cleanse them, and then the cold water will close your pores to keep bacteria from getting in. If you can afford it, a dermatologist will be able to help you find products that really work with your skin!
