Meal prep?

Have you started or when do you plan to start?! FTM here and I’m started out a lazy chef already, lol

Probably after Christmas/January I’ll start putting meals in the freezer so I can just pop them in the oven. We also bought a lot of frozen on skillet meals too.

That's my plan for over the Christmas holidays as I have a couple of days after Christmas but before I go back to work for my last 2 weeks before mat leave. We have a spare freezer all set up in the garage ready to fill with meals! 🙈

I didn’t meal prep with my first. My mom froze some sauce and meatballs and we got some takeout but I was still made dinner most nights. This will be my second so I’ll be busier so I probably should. But I’m also close to family now so hopefully they’ll bring food :)

Made 5 gallons of tomato soup from my garden last month and next week I plan on doing five meat loads. I figure one big prepped session a month and I’ll be good.

I am ALL about meal prep. I’ve already started. With my first pregnancy, I took an entire day and made 10 + freezer meals. It was EXHAUSTING.
This time, I’m making double batches of things and freezing half. Since it’s soup/crockpot season this has been extremely easy! I want a big stockpile of frozen meals by the time I’m later into pregnancy, that way when I don’t feel like cooking dinner I can just pop one of these meals in the oven or crock pot instead of ordering take out. Saves a ton of money and is somewhat healthier than eating out. Plus If you’re making a dinner anyway, it honestly doesn’t take that much more time to prepare double.
Things I’ve prepared so far:
- Chili
- Soups: tortellini, chicken noodle, clam chowder 
- taco bake
- buffalo chicken pasta bake
- Chicken broccoli Alfredo pasta bake
