Anyone know anything about ultrasounds??

Question

I had a follow up ultrasound done on Monday, a August first I had an ultrasound done, no cysts, everything looked good uterus measured 8.1x 4.9x5.3. And this was my report. We have been ttc for 1 year now.

Can anyone give any insight on this. My doctors appointment isn’t until next week for my follow up.

I am currently studying to become a nurse practitioner... and plan to work in an OBGYN office for my career. So from my studying I do know a cyst measuring 2cm usually disappears on its own. 
Other then that I have no idea what follicles mean I read that it could mean an egg, or fluid. 
Therefore, I’d tell you just to see what follow up tells you and let me know.

Answer

Follicles are good, meaning you are producing eggs during ovulation.  The cyst would need to be managed by the doctor.  They may just keep an eye on it if you aren’t in pain.  I had one tied to my endometriosis that was 3 inches and they had to surgically remove it.  Most cysts will burst and reabsorb, but endometriomas will not.  Wait and talk to the doctor.
