Ran out of ultrasound gel, what’s the best replacement?

I’m only 8 weeks so can’t hear the heartbeat, but I’m also wondering if it’s because I’m using hand sanitizer? I heard that’s a good replacement I can hardly hear my own heartbeat using it. Just wondering what y’all used.

I use Aloe Vera. It works well. I am almost 9 weeks and heard baby last week at 8 weeks 1 day. Good luck!

It’s SUPER hard to hear that early. Also the at home ones aren’t as good as ones they have at the hospitals and clinics! But you can get ultrasound gel on amazon I believe!

Just interested to know if this is safe? 
I had a late miscarriage at 17weeks in May so this pregnancy I really wanted to hear babies heartbeat as I didn’t get a chance last time, when I was at my scan I asked the Consultant and she said they will not use the scan that allows you to hear baby before 12 weeks because of the high risk to baby. 
Just thought I’d share as loosing a baby is the most life changing, heartbreaking thing in the world and I’d want to know if I was unknowingly putting my baby at risk.
