Rainbow baby birth story

2:30am, October 31st, Halloween. (4 days past my due date.)

I had been having irregular contractions since Tuesday morning. I was recording yet another one when I felt a POP followed by intense pressure and pain. Figuring my water had broken, I woke up My hubs and told him it was finally time to go to L&D! We got to the hospital and after figuring out it was my water, I was admitted! After 6 hours of active labor, the contractions were finally just too intense and I opted for the epidural. I was pain free for the first time in days! After 16 & 1/2more hours (and a few rounds of oxytocin when my contractions suddenly stopped) I was exhausted and ready to meet our daughter! After an hour and a half of pushing and the most intense pain and exhaustion of my life (Not to mention 5 of the 3rd and 4th degree tears I’m now recovering from.) we finally welcomed Grace into the world and into our hearts!
