Bath??

Question

I am 3 weeks pp, is it safe to take a bath with epson salt? Or is it better to wait till after the doctor clears me? I did tear so I do have stitches.. :( ￼

I was told no baths until 6 weeks pp. I had an episiotomy

I wouldn’t if you tore and have stitches. You should heal first so you don’t risk infection

I was made a bath the day I gave birth, midwife and doctors said baths are completely fine as long as you dont put anything in the water, salts or soap can interfere with healing. I had an episiotomy I’m now 5weeks pp and healed fine I’ve had a bath twice a day since I gave birth

Oh geez I took them all the time once I got home from the hospital 😬 I was never told otherwise, and I had a super quick healing process.

I started taking baths as soon as I stopped bleeding because I wasn’t given basically anything post partum instructions and my baby was in the nicu so I couldn’t really make phone calls.  I ended up in for a uterine infection at 6 weeks pp 😬 so definitely check with your doctor.
