The question is not formula vs. breastfeeding. This was posted by a WIC Lactation consultant. Do you feel language like this would discourage you from using formula? Or do you feel it would discourage you from seeking assistance from said Lactation consultant?

Personally I feel language such as this demonizes formula, and would discourage me from seeking assistance with breastfeeding. I successfully EBF for 15 months.

Edited to add: I was disappointed and disgusted to discover this was a woman who is supposed to be helping low income women make informed choices about their babies nutrition.

Update: the original writer wrote the following comments. I firmly believe this proves a strong bias and lack of education on the benefits of formula, and the importance of ensuring each and every child is fed.
