Not pooping much?!

Question

My son eats a lot of the time and usually he will have big poopy diapers but today he had very very small poops for a one month old... plus he’s been passing gas all day but barely any poops and only two dirty diapers since 3 this morning. Is he constipated?

When he pooped was it hard little balls? Sometimes they can go a day or so without pooping. But if they go longer than 10 days then you should contact the pediatrician.

Its normal for them to poop less. And go days without.

It’s normal for babies to poop less as they grow because it means they’re just using more of the nutrients.  My lactation consultant said it’s okay for a breastfed baby to go as long as 2 weeks without a bowel movement so long as they’re still peeing frequently and gaining weight.
