Anyone take Metronidazole while pregnant ?

I’m scared to take any medicine while pregnant 😭 I’m 3 1/2 months pregnant. My doctor said I had vaginal infection and gave me these pills to get rid of it but I really try not to take as less medicine as I can while pregnant. She was originally going to give me cream and said the oral medicine would treat it better and faster. Just curious if any other mamas have took it during their pregnancy ?

I haven't taken that, but I've had to take my fair share of antibiotics and things during my pregnancy. Your doctor wouldn't give you anything harmful to the baby. It's better to take the medicine than let it get worse.

I think I used that about a month ago. It was a vaginal cream tho. I’m pregnant. If you have an infection you have to treat it.

Metronidazole is the devil. It’s nasty nasty. I have Crohn’s and the only time I’ve ever taken it is during a flare up. It makes me bedridden and causes fever. I cannot imagine a vaginal infection that is bad enough to need that drug.

Doesn't your doc know your pregnant?? They don't prescribe medication to pregnant women that you can't take while pregnant. If you're concerned call your pharmacy that filled the prescription and ask a pharmacist.
If you have an infection, especially in your vagina which is close to your unborn child, you should be doing all you can to get rid of it. Get the ok and take your antibiotic.
