Do you use a car seat base?

I am currently using a car seat base for my 6 week old but I just found out that you are able to use the car seat without a base. Just curious how many mamas out there do or do not use a base and if they think it’s safe not to. Thanks!

I’ll use the seat belt if I’m in a different car. Like, if I go somewhere with my SIL or something like that. But I prefer the base. It’s way easier to just click it in than to have to fool with the seat belt every time. It feels more secure to me too. We only have one car, so I use the base like 95% of the time.

The base is for convenience not necessarily more safe. Either way, as long as the base or the car seat are installed correctly, they’re equally as safe.

I use the base in my car because it’s easier for me to take the car seat in and out. But I’m my husbands truck we don’t use one since he’s not in it much
