35 weeks and 1 day emergency c-section for twins
It's been 3 weeks and 3 days since I had my girls, but I ended up delivering at 35 weeks and 1 day. Also, just 4 days before my birthday. I went into the hospital on a Friday and my OB was concerned because my blood pressure was high, I figured it had read high because I had a stressful morning and did not get any sleep the nught before (from being so big and uncomfortable). I explained this to the OB and she said it was fine but she wanted to see me that next Monday just to be sure it was just from a stressful morning. My blood pressure always ran a little high throughout my pregnancy but nothing that concerned my OB for preeclampsia. Well anyways, I had an awful morning Monday as well, I felt sick and couldn't eat and when I took one bite of a banana, I threw up. So I was prepared for a high blood pressure reading. When I went in my blood pressure came up super high and three different nurses rechecked my blood pressure. My doctor sent me straight to labor and delivery and had blood drawn and labs ran on me, of course my labs came back bad and they started prepping me for an emergency c-section. They started an IV and I felt like a million different things were being pumped into me. After a few hours the OR was ready and the anesthesiologist came to meet me. As we were being wheeled to the OR, my OB informed me that my fiancee couldn't come in the room until after I was given my spinal. I was so scared because I felt like I couldn't be strong without him, but I was okay. I got my spinal and instantly everything started feeling numb, I felt numbness up to my neck. When my fiancee finally was able to come in I was so pale and sick looking. I was worried something went wrong with my spinal because I couldn't move my toes at all 😂 no one prepared me for what it actually feels like. Anyways, a few minutes pass and I ask the anesthesiologist if they had started yet and he laughed and said "uh yeah, I can see baby A's butt now" a few seconds later a cry was let out and they announced baby A weighing 6.6lbs, 2 minutes later came her little sister baby B weighing 5.7lbs. Baby A: Payton Leigh Baby B: Harper Elise. Harper needed oxygen right after birth but came off of it before the next day, both girls had a little jaundice and both needed a little help eating. They stayed in the NICU for 12 days. Here are a few pictures of my angels 💕
