No heartbeat but no ultrasound.... Confused

So I have had a miscarriage before when the babies heartbeat has stopped... I was sick and called into work so went to the doctor to get a note... I was 11 weeks and he tried getting a heartbeat with the Doppler and since my uterus is titled and I'm a bigger girl he said that he would try again next wee but didn't do an ultrasound to make sure the baby was okay. I go in Thursday for my regular check up... I am so nervous has anyone else had this happen?
