I can't fit a whole tampon in my vagina

Please help.. I just noticed this.. I am 22 years old and have been using tampons since I was 12..but I think I have been putting them in wrong. A part of it is sticking out of me and I try to push it in farther but it won't go. It's like my vagina is shallow or something. When I pee my whole tampon gets wet, i thought that was normal but I guess not. Idk how to fix it. And i can't go down a size on tampons because my flow is heavy, i wear super plus. No judgemental comments please i realize i sound dumb.
