Tobacco addict anyone?

Question

My fiancé is addicted to chewing tobacco. He has promised me twice he was going to quit. He doesn't WANT to and whenever I get upset, he blatantly tells me he will just buy cans when I'm not around. It hurt so bad. 😖
I have done research on how to be of help to get him to quit and everything I am reading says he has to WANT to quit. 
Have any of you experienced this and somehow got him to quit. 
I'm seriously hurt and I plan to talk with him about him saying what he did. I am so lost because getting angry and nagging only makes things worse.

My husband plays ball and used to coach so he always dipped. We made a deal that he won't do it all year, only in the summer when he plays. He's already quit smoking and I'm proud of him for it. He doesn't really drink either, on very rare occasions so I guess he's allowed one vice. I don't like it either but hey nobody is perfect.

trust me, you cannot stop someone who doesnt want to stop. my husband smokes, and i hate it. i went through the same thing as you only he did it. he quite for 8 weeks, or so i thought. turns out he was buying packs at work. i thought he was cheating which was why he was doing overtime. turns out he just wanted to smoke. i was pissed that he lied to me but i was more relieved that he wasnt cheating. of course he's still smoking now but its just something that i have to live with. its not easy, but some things have to be sacrificed
