Once again, I need advice and appreciate any help anyone us willing to provide.

So... we had a follow up with our RE yesterday to analyze our 1st <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> cycle which unfortunately failed with 4 embryos arresting on day 4 and zero making it to blast. We were told we would make adjustments for a 2nd attempt planned for December.

During the appointment our RE seemed to focus on statistics instead of actually looking at my cycle, and I had to keep directing him back to my chart.

Then he started making mistakes. At one point he mentioned I had a low AMF and then said, oh wait it’s 1.2, so no it’s not low. Then he said I was a poor responder, but later said I responded well to the meds. I asked him if he would change my medicine protocol and he said no.

I asked him about DHEA, pointing out that my levels were low, and he said, “There’s no solid data on this”. I brought up other vitamins recommended on the book, “It Starts with the Egg,” and he said he never heard of the book and didn’t have an opinion on any of the supplements .

Then, I asked if we could try a fresh 3 day transfer with 1-2 embryos and try to freeze the others, and he said “Well sure we could do that if you want, but we can discuss that later.” At that point he ended the discussion as he had another appointment waiting.

All I know if I left feeling more confused and frustrated then ever. My acupuncturist suggested we switch to another RE at the same clinic that she is used to working with, but that seems that it could make things awkward.

I know when it comes down to it we are paying a lot of money for a service and we deserve better care. My gut feeling is that we need another RE that is more personal and can explain things better, but I don’t know if it would be awkward to see another RE at the same clinic. Has anyone had this experience before?

The options at this point are to switch our RE but stay at the same clinic, switch clinics entirely, or make another appointment with our current RE and try to get a better explanation.
