Abortion pain level?

Question

So I will be having an abortion tomorrow. I'm wondering what a realistic representation of the pain is? I've always had painful periods, and have given birth previously, so am relatively good handling pain. I'm just nervous.

They usually give you medicine, I was knocked out when I got mine a couple years ago, don’t remember a thing

I had a surgical abortion at PP. The meds by mouth & IV ensured I felt no pain during & afterwards. I was sedated too. Waking up was a groggy, but having the dula there was comforting. She held my hand through the abortion & was there when I woke up. She was only with me for what seems like 10 min, but having her there was invaluable b/c she genuinely cared about how I was feeling. If my boyfriend wasn't there to support me Im pretty sure she would have stayed with me in the recovery room for however long I needed her. Be sure to advocate for yourself by being honest with those who are working bc they are there to support you.

Surgical or medical? I had a surgical abortion and I was sedated with fentanyl. I don’t remember much of the procedure, I do remember feeling a period cramp-like sensation for a moment. I also remember looking at the tiles on the ceiling and they were “moving” to me. It was emotionally painful afterwards and beforehand, physically it was bearable and like a period cramp.

Surgical?  I’ve had one and I was sedated for it.  I wasn’t really aware of what was going on and don’t remember much.  I didn’t feel any pain bc they gave me pain meds.
