We have not adopted yet or been matched but I took time to write this out. I cried writing it and poured my heart out. Please do not steal this letter as this is my letter and it’s very rude and you need to write your own.

Dear precious, (yes I obsess over you like Gollum from LOTR)

I want to take the time now(before we have adopted you) to tell you how much we already love you and have waited for you to join our family. Ma and Da love you very much and we wanted a child in our life for a very long time. We struggled for three years to have a child but ultimately knew adoption was our route to have you. I had spend hours making your nursery perfect for you in the theme your dad chose. The theme was Zelda and I made sure to buy every little Zelda decor I could and I even painted that deku tree in your room. I spent 10 hours painting that tree and thinking of how much you would enjoy that tree once I mounted those fake leaves as a canopy. I imagine as you grow that it would be a place for a reading nook or a place you can relax when you are upset.

Da worked so much making sure the city was safe where we lived (as you will know he is a police officer). He wished he could have helped more with making your room up but he does work a lot to make sure we have money to buy you things you would love to play with or go on vacations as a family. We always make time to do a big family night and spending time with each other. Da plans on teaching you how to fish, play video games, ride a bike, jog, and to play baseball. I plan on taking you swimming, watching Wrestling with you, taking you to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class and competitions, jumping on the trampoline and so much more.

We want you to know how much we love you and cherish you even though we don’t have you yet. You are going to grow up with three pups who love to give kisses and cuddle. As your ma I plan on making sure you feel loved even when you are mad at us for something. I want to read you a book every night and snuggle you as you fall asleep. When you feel sick I want you to lie on my lap while we watch the muppets classical theater and I make you soup.

Da and I want you to know we have worked so hard to give you a life neither of us were able to have as kids. We want to thank your biological parents who made the choice to put you up for adoption and chose us to be your parents. There may be times you get mad at us and tell us you don’t love us but that’s ok because that’s how you feel. I will tell you no matter how much you yell at us or get mad we will love you and help you even if you don’t know how to handle your feelings.

I feel very lucky that I will be able to stay at home with you and raise you. I plan on taking you out to the park and doing play dates with other kids in our area. When school starts we live about three blocks and I will be able to walk you to school and pick you up. Your Grandmothers Sue and Patty will be spoiling you when ever they possibly can and visit all the time. Your Papa can’t wait to see you and spend time with you as much as he can. Papa plans to move down to where we live once we have you. G-ma will call us and video chat as often as she can and when we travel to Tennessee she will give you so many hug and kisses. In Tennessee you will see all you aunts, uncles, and cousins who also can’t wait to see you.

Your da would like to tell you that he would never let you have the life he had as a child and will always be there for you. Your dad grew up with out a father in his life and bounced around family and was even in foster care. When he was a teen that is when he found two wonderful women who became the closest thing he had to moms (Sue and Patty). Da spends so much time looking forward to seeing you and taking care of you every chance he gets. Dad plans on stay up with you at night so that way mommy can sleep. Da can’t wait to take you on rides in the classic old beetle and show you how to work on it. He wants to let you know more about him; his favorite video game is Zelda, he likes to go on jogs, dad loves to drive and work on classical cars, he likes building LEGO classical cars, and most of all he loves spending time with family we have here. Dad’s favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas, and he really loves moms cooking because I make the best meals. Your dad is also a fan of anime and marvel movies. His favorite movie is Bugs Life by far.

Just a bit about me that you should know is that I always wanted to be a mom. Being a mom is all I thought about after I became 19. I spent love kids so much that my want to be a mom became my very job. I opened an in home daycare and took care of kids all day long and thought as each child as family. I like to draw, do crafts, read, write, bake, cook, and dance. I enjoy spending time outside and love watching lightning storms on the porch. My favorite holiday is Halloween and Christmas. Mommy’s favorite movies are Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Harry Potter. Everyone in our family is a nerd just so you know. Mommy also is a huge animal lover which is why we have three pups.

Dad and mommy can not wait to have you in our house and making so many memories with you so that you have stories to tell your kids. We want nothing but the best for you. Our little love you are the world to us and we will love you with all of our hearts.
