Anyone have/had the Mirena IUD?

Question

I recently got my Mirena taken out due to personal, I guess, beliefs. I'm curious if anyone's had bad symptoms/side effects from it as well?

I only recently had my Mirena placed but I've had zero problems with it. I keep a busy schedule and was worried about remembering to take the pill so my doctor told me about the Mirena.  It's worked out wonderfully and I'd recommend to anyone.

I have had the Mirena for just about 4 years. The past two have been scary. I gained weight while pregnant, but couldn't lose it. No matter what I tried, even diet. Went from 160lbs to 230 and then down to 215 after the baby. I have fluctuated up to 218 and down to 211 but no lower.  I had to take the Mirena out after nearly four years due to pains I was having in my lower abdomen. The doctor treated me like a child and told me it was nothing, but now that it has been out, (March 3rd I had it taken out, March 9th started period.) the pain in my abdomen is gone. I don't think it punctured me, but it was not where it belonged. Also my hormones and moods were awful while I was ok it. I felt horribly tired all the time for the past couple of years, and had NO libido after the first 6 months of it being in place.

I used it for 6.5 years. Loved it with the exception of insertion. Took it out to get my period back before trying to get pregnant.

I had mirena taken out because I was getting pains in my right lower abdomen. It was nothing, but I felt uncomfortable with it so I got it removed.

Horrible experience with my Paraguard.  I've had it twice one for 4 years and recent for 2 years.  Both times I've had yeast infections and bacterial vaginitis and painful ovarian cysts.  The second time around was very painful with painful intercourse at times, break through bleeding causing me to have at least two cycles a month and heavyyy! You could only imagine my hormones were all over the place I was always moody.  I've always had a high sex drive and I mean because if the imbalance, my husband was lucky if he had some once a week or less.I was all over the place with just a general feeling of unwellnes.  I have had it taken out for about a month now and Omg was it the best decision I've ever made.  Back to a light normal period sex is actually pleasurable and. My drive has skyrocketed !! I'm never going on birth control ever again!!

I had the Mirena IUD in for 4 1/2 years and it gave my PCOS I had to wait 1 yr to my body got back ok and I am still not all the way done with the mess Mirena left me in

I had Mirena for a year. I felt weird. I kept trying to convince myself that it was best to try to keep it in for a year. I should have listened to my body and had it out sooner. I have had very irregular cycles since then and it's been almost a year since I had it out. Sometimes my cycles can be 70 days apart. While a great, no nonsense birth control. It just wasn't for me!

I have had the Mirena for about 2 and a half years now and I haven't had any issues with it. I have noticed more occurrences of bacterial vaginosis which is really just a "scary" way of saying your body's pH is fluctuating or the bacteria in your vagina has changed. I'm not sure if it's from the IUD but I know they started occurring more frequently after around this time period. I spoke with my doctor about it and she said that I didn't need to worry about it much. So my experience has been pretty good. I haven't gotten pregnant which was my goal so I give it 2 thumbs up.
