Copper iud

Ladies I want to talk about copper iuds. I just had mine removed last week after months of bloating, brain fog and metallic smelling discharge ( weird and gross I know but when I talked to my gyno about it she made it sound like she had never heard about this side effect yet one of my friends had the same problem so I’m sure it’s not that uncommon!) I researched for weeks before finally making the decision to remove it because I have three beautiful babies and really like using a non hormonal birth control that I didn’t have to think about but it really did a number on my body! I’m sure it works amazing for some people, it did for me the first time I had one when I was younger but this time around it was terrible and I want to put this out there in case there’s any ladies who have one that are experiencing problems, most doctors just tell you it’s non hormonal and you won’t experience symptoms but there’s lots of women out there who can tell you otherwise!

The top photo is me the day I got the iud taken out and the bottom Photo is two days later! And no I didn’t just eat a giant meal in the top picture! The bottom one was taken in a mirror hence the tattoos being different. Anyway I just want you to know if you’re experiencing any issues you aren’t alone! I know I felt like I was going crazy, I workout everyday, eat healthy no sugar, gluten or dairy and yet my stomach looked like I was 4 months pregnant! You aren’t meant to have a piece of plastic wrapped in metal wire inside your uterus so it’s not a surprise that your body will try to show you something is wrong. If you feel like something is off then it probably is! Always listen to you body
