An Echogenic Focus?

Question

My doctor told me today that the baby has an Echogenic focus on her heart and that it's linked with Down syndrome.  He said there were no other signs in the ultrasound and he wouldn't worry about it.  Has anyone else experienced this? Did it go away by the 3rd trimester?

My baby has it too. No other indicators of Down Syndrome as well. Doctor said not to worry about it. As a side note, if you or your significant other are Asian, we were told that it does not increase the risk of Down Syndrome as 1 in 3 Asian babies have an EIF. My husband is 100% Asian. It will most likely be there when the baby is born. Hope this helps!!
