Sex is really important in marriage/a relationship?

Many people will say sex isn't the only thing and I'd agree but surely it's a big part. Having good sex can support your relationship and strengthen it in my view. I genuinely believe that for a long-term relationship to be successful sex is a crucial part. What are your thoughts?

I think it's the intimacy and connection sex provides as it can make you feel good and wanted and loved that we crave and look for, sometimes we miss that connection when sex is rarely on the table. Me and my partner go from being like rabbits to nothing and I hate it, I get insecure if his not getting it at home his getting it else where but I think that's just me being stuck in my own head as never given me a reason to doubt him I just miss the intimacy and bond sex creates in the moment x

For us it’s the connection that sex brings. Yes it feels good but if we are too exhausted cuddling brings us intimacy. I love sex with my husband.  It’s important.

Of course. To me, the biggest difference between a romantic relationship and one that isn’t, is sex. There’s a lot of men I’m comfortable with and can hold a conversation with, there’s a lot of nice and genuine men who are attractive. But if the sex is bad or nonexistent then what sets them apart from every other guy? Nothing, really. That is how I see it. I will only have sex with a guy if I’m attracted to him and chemistry is present. I’ve done it without and it sucked. Chemistry is so important in any relationship

It’s definitely important, when me and my partner went 6+ weeks without it after I had my son we were so tense and just snapping at eachother. It’s a good relief for us, we become miserable without it.

I can take it or leave it to be honest. I don't believe it's *that* important. It's a nice to have, but I would much prefer good companionship and mutual respect. The physical aspect is not as important to me as the emotional.

In general, really don't think it's crucial to a relationship. Good sex or making an effort for better sex is crucial to a strictly Sexual Relationship. But sex itsself is not crucial to A Relationship. There is an entire spectrum of asexuality. People that identify on that spectrum are still perfectly able to have incredibly fullfiling romantic relationships with a significant other. I don't personally identify as asexual at all. I'm just saying, what my partner's genitals can or cannot do for me is not a determining factor of if my relationship is good or not.
