I’m not currently pregnant or even ttc. However, I feel like it will take months of talking to my husband about it for him to be okay with a home birth. My first 3 were born in a birth center. I’m just not loving the way things are going with our birth center. I really wanted a home birth with my third and my husband’s biggest hang up was the fact that we are an hour away from a hospital that is competent when it comes to emergencies. We are 15-45 minutes from other hospitals. So should the need for transfer arise, he is concerned about how far we are. I’m not sure how to go about explaining that there are not many cases I would need the BEST hospital in the event of transfer. He knows that midwives are trained to transfer early. I’ve had 3 complication-free births thus far. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues and how they talked to their husbands about it.
