Need help please

So I live in apartment complex been living here for almost 3 weeks now. I have my boyfriend car ( who’s in jail ) I’ve only had it 5 days and I drive it everyday .. so I come from work and it’s gone , I called the cops because I thought someone stole it , which they didn’t it was towed they said... but my apartment complex closed at 5:30 and I didn’t get here until 7pm. My apartment complex never gave me car policy and I’ve got no warning . The cops said it was towed because of abandonment... what? I’m so upset because now that’s just money I gotta pay .
