Should employees under age 18 be exempt from income taxes?
I saw this on Facebook and it really got me thinking. It said something like; “Anyone under the age of 18 getting taxed on their paycheck is experiencing taxation without representation because they cannot vote.” Is this accurate? I’m not really sure where I stand on it. I’ve done a little research on it and while I’m not sure if this qualifies as taxation without representation, typically highschool aged teenagers don’t make a lot of money. The taxes they pay are almost irrelevant anyways so why lot let them keep it?
