IUD or Nexplanon

Anna

Okay fellow people with vaginas. I need birth control. I can’t go on the pill because I have chronic migraines. So I have to go with a progesterone option. I was recommended a few things, a couple of which I won’t do, like the shot. But I need help choosing between the remaining two options. A Liletta IUD and the Nexplanon implant. I want to hear the pros and cons of each from someone that has firsthand experience with one or both. IUDs scare me because I’ve heard the placement can be painful. I have a low pain tolerance so I want to know what that is like and tips for before and after. I also plan on having a family so I would like to know if there is anyone here who had an IUD that now has children if there were struggles to conceive afterward. So to sum up what I’m looking for, method you would recommend and why, pain level, preventative measures before and after, any complications or cons that you have with your chosen method, and if there were any fertility issues at the end of use.
