Homemade oatmeal for Baby?

Anyone make their own oatmeal? What do you use and how?

You can buy steel cut oats and just process them in a blender or food processor until they're like a fine powder.
Then you cook them on the stove for about 10 minutes on low until super creamy. 1 cup water to 1/4 cup cereal. 
Thin it out with breastmilk or formula after cooking. 
You can do the same with rice or barley.

The recipe in the pamphlet from my doctor says 200ml cow's milk and 20g normal oatmeal. So a 10:1 ratio.
