Should I give up? VERY low supply! HELP!

Question

This is the most breastmilk I can make when I pump. I am taking lactation cookies and mothers milk tea. I also am trying body armor drinks. I also breastfeed and she gets mad after 5 minutes because there’s no milk. I am 3 weeks post partum from a csection. Does it just magically start flowing or should I give up?

So my milk didn’t come in until a week or so after my c-section and it came in like that, barely anything and super slow. This is what my pediatrician advised me to do/I did and worked: start out by nursing baby, then supplement with formula for baby & pump. Every single feeding. You need to pump for 10-15 minutes. I also added a power pump in at night as well. This signals your body to make more, but supplementing makes sure baby is getting all that they need when you’re supply is lower. 
I also take goats rue capsules (you can get them off amazon- I use mother’s love brand) 3-4x per day. 
I no longer have to pump after every feeding (I probably only had to do that for a week or two) and I now exclusively breastfeed him and make all that he needs!

Don’t give up!! Be kind to yourself and combo feed until your supply gets established... I was in the same position after my C, you can do it ❤️

Keep nursing on the baby’s demands and after that, pump for 10-15 minutes. Do that every two to three hours. Drink a lot of water!! It’s very important to stay hydrated and make sure to eat a lot of meals. Oatmeal helps a lot. I tend to eat oatmeal twice a day to keep up with my supply. For the breastmilk supply pills, it’s not always working. It’s more of just a bandaid to cover the problem temporarily.

I would give up as long as you baby is feed it doesn't matter how she got it I was having the same trouble around 10 weeks didn't realise until 12 weeks and gave up he was such a happy full baby from the first day of formula you baby will be so much happy and sleep longer
It doesn't make you any less of a parent and doesn't mean you can't breastfeed your next child (if you have one) it's also not the end of the world..... Happy baby happy mum right?

I can only get a good supply in the morning. Any other time of day I get minimal output. Keep trying to pump a few times a day regardless - increased demands increases supply so you may get more.

Pumping isnt an accurate way of judging milk supply. When I had my twins in 2011, I could punp 16oz (8oz per boob) in 15min sessions.  With my last baby, I pumped and got MAX an ounce in 15min total. My daughter is 2 and still nurses. The best way to judge milk supply is by letting baby get it from the tap. Babies are better than any pump at getting milk out.

After my c section I wasn’t making a lot of milk..all the supplements KILLED my supply to where I was producing like you. I cut ALL supplements..the only thing that works was power pumping after every fed and pumping throughout the night and drinking a gallon of water a day. We are now 8 months and I’ve had an extremely successful journey. It’s hard work but after the first few weeks it’s cake!

I don’t have personal experience of milk coming in after a C-section but pumping isn’t a true reflection of how much milk you’re producing, baby is so much more effective at removing milk than a pump 💕 
It’s difficult in the early when you feel your baby isn’t satisfied, I felt like this myself but baby had plenty wet and dirty nappies and was gaining weight, so I just persevered through it, but I fully understand the C-Section may make it different and hope some of the advice women who’ve been through it is helpful for you! 
With regards to ‘should you give up’ it’s genuinely something that should work for both you and baby, if it’s causing t more grief than you can manage and are feeling like you don’t want to continue, you’ve already done an amazing thing for your baby by getting this far and should be proud. If you really want to continue breastfeeding then you absolutely can with the right support.
