I’m sorry but it’s in sickness and in health. For better or for worse, why in the world are you two letting a dog come between that?

No but we're keeping the dog. If he got rid of my pet without telling me and against my wishes then yeah I'd leave. He can wait it out a few years before the dog dies

Not just because of the fact that they'd want to get rid of the dog, but that would mean our wants and values are different and that would probably extend into different parts of our relationship.

My dog has been there for me through everything and i love her far too much to ever get rid of her. Shes 10 and i know that It would break her heart as well as mine. So  if a man didn’t understand that I wouldn’t be with him at all and this kinda thing should be known before even considering marriage

I have a cat and my husband knew at the beginning.. we come as a package.. I love him.. he's family.. if the dog is becoming an issue for u then what else are u not agreeing with.. I don't think it's fair.. especially if u had the dog before ur relationship.

This stuff happens...., my husband and I ran into this after we got married. I loved his dog and well his dog and my dog got along. After we got married his dog became VERY destructive and refused to listen to except my husband. The not listening became a really bad issue when I got pregnant bc I was getting injured almost daily (the dog is 120 lbs of pure muscle and could literally knock me over when he jumped up and I’m not that small 5’7” and 135 lbs). Things got really serious when we got pregnant. We knew that my husband would be deploying after our daughter was born and I was genuinely concerned that he would truly hurt her (and before it’s said, yes obedience classes were done).... we came so very close to rehoming his dog... but in the end, my husband cracked down on him and worked with him every moment that he possibly could... but if his dog hadn’t mellowed out before our daughter got here, he would have been gone. It would have been tough to do, but her safety would have been put first.
