How long did you wait?

How long did you ladies wait to have sex after having your little ones? I’m feeling really great, and didn’t tear during delivery. I’m 2 weeks postpartum, ( not thinking of doing it now, but I was considering after next week or week 4...) What are your thoughts?

6 weeks is what is recommended to avoid infection. I wouldn't risk it.

In general the advise is to wait til the 6werks control. There's a huge wound inside your uterus that has to heal up properly (regardless of vaginal delivery or c-section) and it's still healing after you have stopped bleeding. 
But to answer your question: i waited closer to 9 weeks, didn't have the energy to think about sex earlier than that.

Wait until you are cleared by your doctor. You have an open wound inside your uterus from where the placenta detached and endometritis (infection of the uterus) can end with a hysterectomy. Just isn’t worth the risk. 
I was cleared at 9 weeks but waited another month to have sex because I had an extremely traumatic C-section.

I just had my 6 week follow up and my doctor advised waiting one more week based on how I was healing. I would wait to ask your doctor just to be safe! :)

The risk of infection I feel just isn’t worth it!! 6 weeks really isn’t that long to wait to ensure your health. I’m 5 weeks 3 days PP and have been horny as hell for about a week and a half and I want it SO bad, but I’m waiting because I would rather get the green light at my 6 week appointment than risk an infection and having too wait even longer than 6 weeks!! & I still have some mucus coming out ( Lochia ) and want too feel as clean and ready too go before we decide to be intimate again. But I do really miss that connection with my boyfriend and cannot wait until my doctor says I’m good to go 😊

I was SO READY at like 3 weeks but waited til my 6 week appointment. She told me it was totally fine so we stocked up on lube and condoms 😂😂 it hurt so bad for the first few mins so just be prepared for that!

You are really susceptible to infections in the 6 weeks after birth. The risk isn’t just any tearing but the wound in your uterus from where the placenta attached needs to heal.

I had sex 4 weeks PP. My doctor recommended 6 weeks PP, but I felt fine. I did not get an infection, but everyone is different.
