TTC after stopping the depo shot

I’m supposed to be getting my second depo shot this month but my boyfriend and I have decided for me to not get it and go forward letting things happen naturally/trying. Hence my last period was back in September. I’m not sure what to expect - a period, for it take long to conceive possibly or any kind of difficulties? I’ve heard it could take about 10 months after stopping the shot to be able to conceive. Any suggestions or advice from others in the same or similar situation would be greatly appreciated!
