Best state to live in for college?

I’m going to be going to college soon and I wanted to know what is the best state for a college student to live in?

I think that completely depends on what you want from college and what you like. I dont really think there is a best state to live in for college. It just depends on what you want to go to college for. So like if you wanted to go for Marine Biology your pretty well stuck to coastal states. But if you are doing something like History or Math or Engineering state doesnt matter but college can. After that state wise is personal preference if you are like me and hate the snow/have an ankle that causes you a lot of pain in the extreme cold then up north is probably not the best plan so when I was applying I didnt apply to anywhere higher then KY. And if you are like my sister who dislikes heat then southern states might be a bad plan. 
So I'm a grad student studying engineering.  I looked up the best schools that I could get into, in areas that aren't up north, that had the focus I wanted to go into and applied there. I also wanted to make sure that the culture aspect of the area aligned with what I would like so I looked into schools in bigger areas because that tends to work best for me. I ended up applying to 4 schools in 3 states 2 on the east coast and 2 on the west. I did about the same as an undergraduate.
If you can I would suggest touring the colleges you are applying to that can be very very helpful.
