Zika- what would you do?

Hi everyone! I am TTC and hubby and I are looking into vacations in the next few months.  My question is: is Zika still a threat? How careful would you be? Should I avoid all places it's ever been? Basically, what would you do??

Zika is still a thing. You should avoid all the places and not trying to conceive until 6 months after your vacations if you are going to a place with the virus

It depends on the location and whether or not there is an active outbreak. The CDC website has the most up to date information.

My doctor told me if you get Zika you would have symptoms within three weeks but that you should not try to conceive for three months to be on the safe side

I should mention I have checked the CDC map and there are currently no places with current outbreaks.

Yep. We’re planning for number two next year, but going to Mexico first. CDC now recommends waiting 3 months (it used to be 6). We’re going to wait, then start trying. Check the CDC website to know what the CDC recommends for where you are going.
