Am I overreacting?

My niece kept trying to hold my one year old yesterday and I kept telling her to please stop because she almost dropped her every single time and she continued to do it and I took my daughter back and then she’d pick her off of the ground. HER MOM WAS SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME LISTENING TO ME TELLING HER TO STOP AND DID NOTHING. I told my husband as this is his family and my nieces mom thinks I’m overreacting.

Talk to your neice. Let her know the ONLY time she's allowed to hold the baby is while she's sitting down, and supervised by you.

That’s definitely not okay. I also have the same problems with my niece on my husbands side, she doesn’t ever listen to me and nobody sees a problem with it because she’s a spoiled brat 🙄 it’s gonna be horrible when my baby gets here

Next time give her a telling off. Say “Name, aunty told you no. Do NOT pick up baby again okay? That is NOT OKAY”
Be really cross and firm. If her lazy ass mum has something to say then straight up tell her- control your child or I will.

No. I don’t like my niece around my kids because she’s fucking mean. You have to watch her like a hawk or she will pinch/push/bite my daughter. It makes me fucking crazy. Her mom is having another baby in April so I wonder if the script is gonna change when she does that shit to the new baby. It doesn’t help that when she does it, she cries like she’s the one being hurt and her mom just scoops her up and cuddles her instead of saying “We need to use gentle hands when we play” or “would you like to share or play with some different toys?”
