Pill or IUD?

Hi ladies! I've been on the pill for as long as I can remember, maybe 4 or 5 years now? I'm not too sure. It's the only form of protection my bf and I use and in all honesty I like to think I'm reliable when it comes to using it and remembering to take the pill however I do miss a pill  couple of times a month. 
My friend just told me she's pregnant and was on the pill and it's really made me think if I should change my form on contriception? I really like the pill it's worked really well for me. I'm just wondering what your opinions are on the IUD and if it's worth using? Thanks!

I used to have an IUD and I absolutely loved it! I had to switch over to the pill because it was making my hormones go out of whack. Just like any birth control, it'll effect different people differently. There are three kinds of IUD's: Skyla, Mirena, and Paraguard. Paraguard is a non hormonal IUD and it's the largest of the three. Mirena and Skyla are both hormonal IUD's and they are made by the same company. The differences between the three is that Paraguard and Mirena are marketed for women who have already had children but you can still get them if you haven't had children. Skyla is marketed and made specifically for women who have never had children before, it is comparably smaller than Mirena and Paraguard. All three stay in for different amounts of time, the Skyla can stay in for up to 3 years. Mirena can stay in for up to 5 I think and I have no idea how long Paraguard stays in but I'm pretty sure it stays in the longest out of the three. Definitely definitely talk to your doctor and decide with her which would be the best choice for you. I hope this helped you and gave you a little bit of info you didn't already know.

99 out of 100 women do not get pregnant while on the pill, so chances are your friend was taking it incorrectly. IUDs are great, but they're a hassle and they're pretty painful. A friend of mine bled for 4 months after getting hers. Still doesn't change the fact that you should use protection against STIs

Missing a couple of pills a month is actually a huge deal and you're lucky that you haven't got pregnant yet. So I would get on the iud ☺️

My cousin use iud and she loves it just got to find the right dr you trust to put it in so it won't mess you up like they talk about that's what makes me scare so I stay with the pill lol but my cuz loves it maybe you would too
