Misoprostol experience anyone?

Question

So I’m about to start my induction and my cervix is super high and long only dilated a finger tip they are starting me with misoprostol for 4 hours did anyone do this and did it work? Next step may be foley bulb or pitocin.  I have a feeling it’s going to be a longgg time before we meet babe.

I got induced Monday with misprostal. (12 hours, 5 doses) Nothing happen. Then they gave me cervidal (inserted vaginally) and that kick started everything when they said it was a very similar. drug to misprosol and I would likely be able to sleep over night. Not the case. Had contractions all night into the next day. Didn’t even need pitocin. Did eventually have an epidural and it allowed my body to relax and make it the last cms dilated and sleep so I could be ready for pushing. When they woke me up from my sleep I was fully dilated and ready to push. And not in pain. Good luck! Everyone is different though. One drug could do something for one person and nothing for the next.

I don't want to cause any panic, but I was under the impression that misoprostol/cytotec used for induction was dangerous and not the recommended use from the manufacturer...I didn't realize it was still used in this way. I'll see if I can find the article on it.

Two out of the three inductions I have had resulted in full blown labor after having this medicine inserted vaginally. My last induction was a few days ago and from the time it was inserted to the time I had him was about eight hours. Everyone reacts differently to it 🤷🏼‍♀️
