For example, if you were a grandmother in the situation. Would you post about being a grandmother with the picture of the scan before the parents do?

Not a chance! We have made it very clear to anyone who knows that they are to tell NO ONE until WE SAY SOMETHING. my mother in law was like "but why?! I'm just excited!" And we had to tell her, "how would you feel if you found out through someone else? Like if my mom posted something on Facebook and we hadn't told you yet?" That seemed to make sense to her.

My mom actually announced my pregnancy on social media (no picture) and I haven't announced it on social media but I'm not upset because I know she's excited and this is her first grandchild.  She also had us announce it at our family reunion. But again I'm not upset because I know she was just really excited.
