can he get stitches?

my so cut his finger really deep at work today, its closed up bc he just took the bandage off but it keeps bleeding. should he go to er and get stitches? he said when he cut it it was a flap of skin and he could see nerves and tissue. 😖

Stitches are for cuts/tears that don't stay closed on it's own. This looks like it has already started to heal. I would just keep it bandaged.

I honestly use super glue. I've cut a huge chunk of my fingertip before and just super glued it shut. Reapply the glue as needed, eventually it'll peel off and the cut will be good.

If it’s been more than 8 hours most places won’t stitch it. Just keep it clean and open to air. The skin can mesh back together. Or you can use butterfly tape like someone else said.

I’d get stitches. My husband got his thumb really bad last week and now today finally admitted he should have gotten stitches but instead tried to use liquid bandage and it didn’t catch.

Maybe try liquid bandage???
