Dip and rise but no ovulation yet?

Question

My temp dip the past few days pointed to ovulation being today or tomorrow but my OPKs have remained at the same level of negative (testing twice a day) all week so I definitely have not had a surge. Then today my temp went back up. Is it normal for it to fluctuate this much right around ovulation? I thought it was usually a pretty clear dip then rise pattern?
First month charting, so I am completely new to all of this￼￼

That’s completely normal. YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A DIP. (It’s so frustrating to see that misinformation women perpetuate here.) Keep temping and testing every day. It’s common that it goes low (dips) for a while, rises back to normal mid-range temps just before ovulation, then will rise much higher after ovulation. That’s why the rule is “three higher than the last six” to confirm ovulation. Nowhere in the rule does it say “dip.” (Though some women do get a dip consistently, others occasionally, others never.) Keep up the good work and it will become apparent soon. :)
