Would you commute for your dream house?

So my new husband and I have been in an exhaustive search for a home. The market is inflated here- we both have good professions but we both sold our starter houses and want to settle into a long-term or forever home together. We found one that meets all of our criteria in a very reasonable price point, but there’s always a catch! With this one it’s the drive. We have new/reliable vehicles.
He would need to commute 30-35 minutes each way almost every day. I would need to commute one hour each way two days per week, and 30 minutes each way two other days per week.
Right now he has no commute 4 days per week and otherwise we drive 20-30 minutes to get most places. Do you think we’d regret buying this house?

yeah. 30 minutes isn't too bad. i might be biased though lol. in california driving 30 min is considered pretty decent.
my dad works from home but travels often, so he didn't want to be too far from the airport. he got his dream house and it's only 20 min from a major airport. my commute to school is almost an hour but i still love being home since it's so peaceful and lovely. 
this is the backyard !!

Commutes are one of the worst ways to spend time especially if it’s driving. I would not commute for my “dream house” simply because it would not be my dream house.

For 20-30 minutes, yes I’d commute. For an hour each way, no not if it’s everyday. I did that for almost two years and it was miserable. Since yours is only 2 days a week, I dont think it would be that bad.

I don’t think 35 minutes is a long commute. I commute 60 miles one way, and with traffic it can take up to 2 hours. I won’t lie, it sucks. But i couldn’t afford a decent house any closer to work. I think it’s personal preference... you have to both figure out where your priorities are.

I used to commute an hour. Now it’s 20 but my boyfriend commutes 35-40 minutes.

Depends what you're willing to do for it? I personally don't think that's far, but it depends on what you're used to doesn't it. My journey door to door is almost 2 hours each way 🤷

Wow that’s not bad at all. I live in LA county , but the outskirts. So everything is pretty far. My FIL commuted about an hour or so everyday one way , my husband right now is commuting a 2 hour drive one way. 
It all depends on what you really want.

That's all you guys commute? I'm renting in a place that is not ideal and my commute is 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic and we will most likely get a house far from my work even with a fast pass. I work in an expensive area to live. A lot of my coworkers commute. Sometimes I have to drive over an hour if I'm going to another office. A 30 minute commute really isnt that big of a deal in some places like where I live. I wish my commute back was only 30 minutes and plenty of my coworkers live further than I do.

My husband currently has a 1-1.5hr commute each way every day. My commute is only about 20mins.
We are moving though and my husbands commute will be about 25 mins and mine will be closer to 30-45.
