When did you give your LO solids?

FTM here... how would I introduce solids to my son.. I’m exclusively breastfeeding, soon my son will be 6 months. He’s already super interested in our food. What exactly do I give him first and how many times a day would he have solids.

There’s so many varying beliefs on this. You should really ask your doctor, not us.... haha. Mine said between 4-6 months babies should be “practicing” and by 6 months they should be eating solids well.

I got the go ahead when my son turned 4 months by his pediatrician he was a supported sitter he was showing major interest in our food he would track our food spoons and forks he would even open his mouth if I had him on my lap while eating. We started with avocado give it a few days to a week to make sure he doesn’t have any allergies to the foods you start to give. What we started with was he for a small amount of oatmeal in the morning for breakfast with half banana purée, he did well with that and then we moved into avocado so then his eating schedule looked like oatmeal and half a jar of banana breakfast then half avocado for lunch and the other half for dinner. However I have a fatty on my hand so then he started wanted the whole jar of banana for breakfast and a whole jar for lunch and depending on how hungry he was at dinner he would either half half a jar or a whole jar all while still getting his 6oz bottle throughout the day. He isn’t really into anything with a sweeter taste except for banana other than that he’s a total veggie eater.

Started with veggies. He had a curry last night & loved it hes just turned 5 months but can sit unaided & will put food in his mouth when given. We started at 4 months due go tummy issues

We started her on a slice of banana yesterday, she's 5 and a half months old (almost 6m adjusted). She was showing an interest in our food, can keep her head up well and sit in a high chair.

Your pediatrician should have some information on it. I'm going by the pamphlet given to us by our doctor. Start with veggies, introduce grains after a month as a second daily meal.
