How to dress newborn with umbilical cord stump?

Ladies, 
How to dress our winter newborns with umbilical cord stump before it falls off?? Onesies? Just a shirt and no pants? Sleeping sacks? 
Please advise what kind of clothes I should put in my hospital bag? 🤷‍♀️❓

Zip up sleepers!

We didn't do anything special for my daughter. Normal onesies and zip sleepers. Never had any belly button/stump issues.

Normal clothes that you would put on baby. No special considerations that we did. And ours fell off in a week.

I kept mine in pj onesies - button and zip . First time i was more weary about zip - not this time. Those buttons get old, quick!!

Sleepers, or diaper shirt and pants but I make sure the waist band isn’t rubbing on the cord. If you’re taking them outside I think it’s more important to dress according to weather especially at this time of year. But for warmth and to avoid irritation best bet is a sleeper with a diaper shirt underneath for an extra layer.

Deffo a vest with a sleepsuit over the top. The hardest thing I found before the cord fell off was the nappy rubbing on it!

My midwife said (when I had my first) to just avoid pants because they put unnecessary pressure on it. So any one piece is fine.
