Did you TTC right after D&C?

Any successful stories of a healthy pregnancy right after d&c? My doctor said we don't need to wait and can start as soon as emotionally ready. He said that 3 cycles wait was a hoax and was debunked by a recent study. It's been 2.5 weeks since the surgery and we want to throw away condoms and see what happens. But I am still worried about the whole 'need to get uterus lining to a better state to be able to support new pregnancy'.
