I don't know why this bothers me so much...but...

Back in July, my husband and I went to his parents' land for a BBQ. They had just gotten a kitten for pest control purposes. They were calling her Daisy.

My in-laws smoke and ingest a lot of marijuana on a regular basis, and I absolutely find their behavior super boring and slow when we go out there, so I make an effort to invite them out instead of sitting around watching them act like fools.

Anyway, we were sitting around at the BBQ on their land talking about what my husband and I would name the baby if we had a boy or girl. I told them our chosen names and that was that. Cut to our gender reveal where we displayed our baby's name and a few weeks later his parents tell my husband that they had renamed their cat the same name. They marvelled at "what a coincidence!" it was that we picked the same one! They said the name just "came to them" and they didn't want to tell us about it at the gender reveal. I am so annoyed by this and maybe it is silly of me because it's a cat, but I'm thinking wtf is wrong with these potheads that they don't realize how this very specific name "just came to them" ?!?!?! Now their cat and their grandchild will have the same name! They have no plans to change the name again... ARGHHHH!!
