Do you know if you have the Rh gene in your blood?

Lilly • Not trying, Not preventing.

The Rh factor is basically the positive or negative that comes after A ,B ,AB ,or O.

Google estimate roughly 15% of people are Rh Negative, 85% are Rh Positive.

O+ being the most common, O negative is what is most used in the hospital especially for emergency's as it is considered universal and can be used with any blood type *due to Not having the Rh factor*. O+ can only be use for O+, A+, B+, AB+( only positive blood types) and only Receive blood from O+ or O-.

AB- being the most rare, can give to AB- or AB+. Only receives from negative blood types. ( AB-, A-, B-, O- )

AB+ can Only give to AB+ but can receive from all blood types.

I can make another post explaining a little more if wanted or you can do your own research but if you are having trouble convincing, it may be worth asking your doctor about the Rh gene. If the mother is negative and the baby is positive and your blood accidentally mixes your body will find your baby's Rh positive blood as a foreign object and attack it. Its rather rare but it does happen. If that is the case then there are options, there is a shot called RhoGam made of antibodies called immunoglobulin that will help protect the fetus from moms antibodies. Best of luck, baby dust to you all!
